So who is behind KP Website Design?

Hey, I’m Karisa Prestera. With a degree in Applied Graphic Design Technology and another in Culinary Arts, I have a mixed bag of incredible experiences. From being a soldier, to software developer, chef to solopreneur, freelancer to teacher — the spark of joy I’ve found in all these careers has been connection.
No matter what I’ve done, I’ve used my skills in writing, speaking, art, empathy and technology to make the connections that keep customers, clients, students and guests coming back for more. I look forward to putting my magical skills of connection and translating your vision to work for you.

Here’s How I Work

Think you’re ready to get started?
SEE IF WE’RE A GOOD FIT!
Need More Convincing?
There are thousands of web designers and developers out there in the world, so why should you hire this one?

There’ll be No Man’splainin.
I’ve been doing tech and design a long time. It’s not like I know everything, but I’ve designed an impressive number of sites and used a lot of tools. It’s my job to make sure that you get the help you need, and not an earful of boastful fluff. There will be no Man’splainin here…or woman’splainin either. (Is that’s a thing?)

I’ll be there for you.
(cue the 80’s ballad) But seriously, you are not just a number. I’m a real live human being with empathy that runs deep. While we build your site I will be in constant contact with you checking in on design and making sure we are on target to meet your goals.
Once the website is done, I will send you a personalized how-to video on the process to make updates and maintain your site. Or you can hire me to do that for you. I will hold your hand every step of the way. You also get 30 days of tech support after your website goes live, and of course from the moment you sign on with me, you’ve got my number and my email address.

I’ll make it happen.
In the Army we used to say, “Adapt and Overcome!” After years of working with kids and serving diners, I’ve learned a thing or two about service and empathy but I also learned how to show up, with a smile, day in and day out and not bring my personal business to work with me. I am reliable, on time and know how to get the job done.

I believe deadlines are real.
This is not a “science is real” conversation, but it is important just the same and while I hold regular office hours, I also hold my commitment to your deadline near and dear to my heart. That means not only do I get it done, I get it done on time.

I carry with me a giant network of know how.
I am part of a giant network of female entrepreneurs (some brilliant men too) and tech goddesses who always have my back. The Geek Pack has not failed me yet, so if I don’t quite know how to do it, you can bet they do. It’s been said that being a good developer isn’t knowing how to do all the things, it’s knowing how to find out how to do all the things. I’ve got that part down!

You will be helping to support my family.
Here we are. Real people. So your website and marketing dollars are offering real support to a real hard working person and her family. No corporate welfare here.

I’m fun to work with.
Ever have that co-worker or contractor that always has on a sour face? Grumbles when you call? Acts like your requests are simply asking too much or are putting them out? Well, that’s just not me.
When you chat with me you can actually hear the smile on my face, and when you video chat with me, you can see it! I like to be kind, friendly and have fun, but that doesn’t keep me from getting the job done, it just makes it go a little easier. Need another goof ball image to prove it? There ya go!
P.S. I’m not always working
In my spare time I volunteer for Doodle Dandy Rescue and enjoy yoga, reading, cooking, hiking, camping and hanging out with my sweet family and friends, preferably outside or by a body of water. Mostly if I’m not working, you can find me with the love of my life and life partner Norman and with either a kid or a dog on my lap!
